MALAYSIAN NATURALIST: Volume 78.2 (Dec 2024 - Feb 2025)

This 64-page publication is a special edition featuring MNS Selangor Branch and covering two main areas of the state of Selangor, namely Shah Alam Community Forest and Kuala Selangor Nature Park.

Split into two sections, the fight for Shah Alam Community Forest which has been degazetted, is made. The first section deals with the local communities’ reactions to this, and the second section seeks to justify the need to preserve the forest. As of the time of writing this, the situation is still unresolved, so there is hope! Many iconic pictures are included in the second part for your enjoyment.

The next article takes to the beach/water, with a well-illustrated article about the pressures on Malaysian water as some Malaysians fish to feed their families.

One of MNS Conservation Division’s projects RUGS (Rantanian Urban Green Spaces) is featured in the next article. Well worth reading if you spend some of your time in Kuala Lumpur.
